calum singingalone and with Alasdair Gillies
Just magical
We should be all gretful
The happiest of memories from a man who never forgot his routes. Of you came across him in The Snaffle Bit or similar of his haunts in Glasgow, the man wouldn't hesitate to give a rendition of your favourite song. And he kenned fine how to shift a wee dram. 😅 The complete gentleman.
He had a amazing voice
Brings back memories of my childhood on the Isle of Lewis listening to Calum Kennedy on our record player. What a voice
My dad played the box for him on a tour of the Western Isles in the late 80s, our whole family went, and made a holiday of it. Calum was an absolute gentleman, and such a funny guy RIP
The Scotland i remember people with standards
What can i say terrific great singer
I used to listen to this longingly during the second lockdown because Stornoway wasn't under a lockdown at that point while we all still were 😂 Different times!
Interesting shot of Callums now derelict and ruined house there @ 0:39
Very fond memories of Calum Kennedy. I was just a teenager in the late sixties. Irish TV had a programme called calum's ceile. It was the highlight of the week. My thanks for those lovely memories. May he rest in peace. 🙏
My dear brother Angus MacLean was so much apart of that era. So many wonderful memories memories.
What a pleasure to hear this .. ❤
Best gaelic singer ever
Just brilliant
I’m 21 my dad listens to Callum all the time & I think he has the must beautiful voice I have ever heard
I live in Olympia, Washington State, and Calum Kennedy's songs were the background of my childhood, as my father (born in Boston), had every record available to us in the 1960's. These songs are also some of my own childrens favorites as my siblings and I continue to listen to them as we intoduce the next generation to this beautiful voice.
Takes me back to my Granny's where we would have family sing songs Wonderful days.Choaked thinking about these times. 😢
Beautiful
Wish we could go back
TRULY AWESOME xxxxxxx
I so sorry, I am in my 60's and have a broad taste in music, but to me his voice is awful, at least to my ears. So unnecessary over dramatic, all style over substance. The Corries version of Dark Lochnagar remains the definitive.
1960 and early 70s. My wee life ❤️ ♥️ 💕
My old man worked with him, said he liked a drink, but a great guy. Ps my old man liked a drink. As do I .😜😜
Okay Hii I am his old grand dagheter and I can say his girlfriend was kristina keanndy and my mum is elidh Kenaday BTW WHAT U ON ABOUT HE DIDED WHEN MY MUM WAS 17 so whrong 2 years ago what I am only 7 so I have never saw him
Eh? ,
He was a big hit in late 60s/70s❤
A great talent who could sing in English, Scots and Gaelic. Perfect
Wonderful to see this Fiona. we (Scotland/Alba) loved your Father
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
My dad sang this 😢 great memories ❤
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Abair tàlantach 's a bha e (anns a' Bheurla agus a' Ghàidhlig-fhèin). 'S mòr an truagh gun do bhàsaich e cho òg...
He was 77 , 4 score years and 10 =70 , so allotted years and 7 , don't think he was well or he may have got longer , but not too bad
The greatest singer with so much emotion. We’ll never see the likes of someone like him again. Makes me so proud of my Scottish roots. 🍁🇨🇦
The best voice in the world!
Ahhhhh wow many thank you for having Calum on this site .....beautiful ...can we have more please xxxxx
The best
This brings back so many wonderful memories of going to Lewis with Callum Morrison who also came from this fantastic island ❤️
Great voice love him singing any song❤
This super
I don't have rg Gaelıc but thebvoice!
Never to be forgotten xx
Never seen this before, what a lovely tribute to Calum Kennedy. 👏👏
This was so wonderful, what a great video. I am eighty years old and now live in Canada. A truly great singer and personality, I feel I have been reintroduced to the real Calum Kennedy and the Scotland of my younger days. Thank you for this great pleasure.
Calum and his Heavenly voice evokes memories that give tearful, though incredible memories of my youth working in Scotlands Highlands during late '50, early '60. Memories that bring tears to my eyes. It's an understatement to say he was a great singer. He was much more. His voice was Heavenly. To borrow a phrase, " His throat was touched by God"
The audience = living dead
😅😅😅😅😅😅 well said that man/ women 😂😂😂
Such a load of my childhood , a voice and a twinkle. ❤️
I remember your dad well, I remember spending time in Inverness as a wean. We as a family spent time on our way to Sutherland, and you were all Bonny.
Rip I love you and your family God bless 🙏♡(。♥‿♥。)
Sincerest of gentleman with an ease of voice which brought to mind younger days when life was everything I ever wanted it to be
That's all I want! No flowery pish! No "auto-tune to make it sound like angelic orchestra' Just the song we used to sing around the dish-towel hanging above the cooker Thank you, folks. This may not be the batman they want - but its certainly the batman we all sorely need!
Fondest memories of going to seeing him live with my beloved mum as a child in Corpach village hall, the purest of voices & surely the greatest of gaelic singers
